About Nail Care
Nail Care is a simple foot care service which you can purchase at reasonable cost. Nail Carers are also trained to cut finger nails.
Birmingham Settlement makes sure that each Nail Carer is:
- CRB checked, trained at NVQ Level 2, properly insured and has signed up to a contract of standards
Birmingham Settlement is the coordinating agency which works on behalf of all the partners - they:
- Process the registration of Nail Carers
- Work closely with the Nail Care Steering Group to ensure effective service development
- Handle complaints
- Respond to general enquiries
- Supply instruments to Nail Carers
This service has been developed in partnership with:
- NHS South Birmingham Commissioners
- South Birmingham Community Health Podiatry Service
- Birmingham City Council
- Service representatives from Birmingham Older People’s Reference Group and Birmingham Advisory Council for Older People
- Clinical Practitioners
- Carers and
- The Hair, Beauty and Complimentary Therapies lecturing team from James Watt Campus of Birmingham Metropolitan College, Birmingham
